RRSO poza kosztami odsetkowymi uwzględnia również koszty prowizji oraz ubezpieczeń. Bank z bardzo niskim oprocentowaniem nominalnym np. 5% może mieć oprocentowanie rzeczywiste na poziomie 20%. Na reklamach dużą czcionką jest podawane oprocentowanie nominalne.
